Tyre Couplings
Tyre couplings consist of 2 cast iron flanges which are mounted on the shafts by means of taper lock bushes. Between them sits a flexible rubber tyre which can accomodate high angular misalignment (up to 4 degrees) without imposing undue loads on the adjacent bearings, while simultaneously absorbing shock loads and vibration in the powertrain.
Tyre couplings are easy to fit and replace, and can be visually inspected during regular maintenance.

Jaw Couplings

Low cost, general purpose couplings for most applications. Jaw couplings can accomodate small misalignments (<1 deg). parallel misalignment (<0.38mm) and iwth the nitrile insert are suitable for operations between -40C to 100C. Usually supplied with pilot bore only
HRC Couplings
"HRC" is a registered trademark of the Fenner Group, but has beome a widely used, generic term, to describe this coupling type.
HRC couplings consist of 2 cast-iron halves attached to shafts by means of taper lock bushes. Between these two halves is a rubber "spider" that servers as a ahock absorber and allows for a limited mis-alignment.
