FUN Series (Flanged UnGeared)
A most popular series of slewing rings made by most manufacturers and used in a variety of simple mechanical handling devices. They can generally be considered interchangeable but (there's always a but!) there can be differences in precision class (clearance); higher precision pilot diameters and the number of bolt holes. Higher speed bearings have cages to ensure optimal ball separation.
The standard NBC stock units can be considered suitable for all standard industrial applications. Higher precision and preloaded bearings are available to order only.
Zinc plating or black oxide coatings can be provided on request; or we can arrange painting or nylon coating of surfaces for special applications.

Bearings are manufactured either in C45 steel (Europe) or 50Mn (China), roughly equivalent to BS 080M46
Bearings are usually supplied with 4 grease points in the outer ring only, DIN 71412A M8x1 equispaced. Variations exist!
Load and bolt limit curves
If both radial and axial loads act upon the bearing, these need to be converted to a single equivalent load to enable accurate graphical analysis. Bearings should operate within the prescribed triangular load area at all times.
The bolt limit curve is based on the use of Grade 8.8 bolts. An improvement to this can be achieved by using Grade 10.9 bolts, but only after consultation with and approval of the NBC Technical Department.
